Art House Co-op features Maken Art

I was so excited when I realized that Maken Art is currently featured on the Art House Co-op homepage!

For those of you who haven’t come across them before, the Art House Co-op creates ‘massive, international art projects that tie thousands of artists together – and anyone can participate.’ This sort of thing really gels with me, I am completely in love with cooperative art projects, guerrilla art, and anything that encourages people to create together.

Currently I’m participating in their Sketchbook Project 2011, and once I finish this pesky Masters at the end of the year I plan to get stuck into some of their other projects too. If you are interested, you still have 88 days left to join the 2011 project and take part (along with 10,150 of your new online artist friends).

The Art House Co-op also consists of a gallery in Brooklyn, NY called the Brooklyn Art Library. If you live in the NY area you should definitely stop by and check it out!

If you aren't in the area you can still check out the website (and view my lovely feature while it is still on the homepage).

  4. That's so cool! I haven't started mine yet but I will do something with it today hopefully. On the rule sheet it says something about them attaching a pocket to the cover to hold our artist bio.. I'm kind of confused, do you know if we are we supposed to make a bio sheet for them that's separate from the book? -Marisa

  5. Hi Marisa,

I can't remember exactly where I read it but I think the pocket will go on the inside front cover and we'll be able to submit a bio online once they have received our returned books? So I assume they print up the cards and put them in.

Anyone else know more about it?
