Frank Lloyd Wright postcard

For those of you who've been reading Maken Art for a while, you know that I joined up Post Crossing about a month ago. An online service that coordinates the sending of postcards to / from strangers around the world.

You can specify the types of cards you recieve, or if you favour getting cards from a particular country (if you are learning a new language perhaps).

I just sent off my fifth card to a lady in the US who has a penchant for Frank Lloyd Wright. I thought my friend Emma might also like this, just because of all the orange and green. :o)

  1. Dude - awesome! I've got a couple frank lloyd wright books and some morrocan and other asorted wonderful architecture books waiting at home with the idea of doing the exact same thing in my sketchbook!! Keep tuned to my blog.

As an aside... I was talking to someone the other day about colours, and the red, orange, yellow combo really does not appeal to her, at all! Well, later that day I was showing her some drawings from our art class....and I think about a 1/3 of my pics were in red, orange and yellow....and another third were green. And quite a number were orange AND green! I didn't notice until looking at them with someone that hates the combo that I was that obsessed, no wonder Erik gave me grief every time I dug out an orange or a green pastel : )

  2. Hey Em,

I've not really been a fan of yellows and oranges in the past, but I so admire your bold use of bright colours and I must admit my tastes are changing from monotones to bright colours...now if only I could introduce some into my wardrobe!

  4. I'm the lady in the U.S. to whom Jessica sent this card. I LOVE it. It was especially exciting to get a PC from a fellow artist. Thanks so much, Jessica. I'm glad you gave me your address -- now I can 'gift' you with one of my altered postcards.
